Mahindra has re-opened the booking for the XUV5OO AWD. The SUV became an instant hit in the Indian market registering more than 10,000 bookings in just a couple of days from launch. The company launched the SUV pan India a few months back while opening bookings for the 2WD variant.
With Tata launching the Safari Storme which has received a good response so far, Mahindra may not want to delay deliveries of the AWD variant which may make the customers look at other options.
The XUV5OO AWD is equipped with an Intelligent All Wheel Drive technology developed by Borg Warner which ensures one in full control of the vehicle, be it slippery surfaces, heavy rain, snow or even ice.
The AWD is further fortified with NexTrac next generation, electronically controlled, on-demand Interactive Torque Management system. NexTrac automatically controls vehicle systems like Engine Management System, Steering Angle Sensor and Anti-lock Braking System, and automatically redistributes torque between front and rear wheels.
The XUV500 AWD is powered a 2.2 litre mHawk which delivers an impressive output of 140bhp and a torque of 330Nm. It sports the 5th generation variable geometry turbocharger which ensures instantaneous acceleration. The engine is mated to 6-speed transmission and comes with a Dual Mass Flywheel which reduces engine noise, vibration and harshness significantly and delivers a comfortable and smooth gear shift feel.
The XUV5OO AWD is priced at Rs. 14,27,860 ex-showroom Delhi.
