In just a couple of days more, Mahindra will launch the all Quanto compact SUV in the Indian market. The compact SUV segment has already got a head start with the launch of the new Renault Duster and Ford will also follow the suite by end of this year with the launch of the EcoSport.
Thanks to Team BHPian member Torque-ative, who has managed to get some pics of the Quanto test drive vehicle parked at one of the Gurgoan dealerships.
Mahindra may have delayed the launch for quite some time, but as the saying goes in Hindi: “Intezaar Ka Phal, Meetha Hota Hai” and in sync with the statement, we feel the Quanto is going to be another hot selling product from Mahindra after the XUV5OO. Mahindra has spent 2 years testing the SUV and has assured the product will meet the customers expectation. Code named U203, the Quanto is based on the Ingenio platform which also underpins the Xylo MUV.
As per sources, the Quanto will get a 3 cylinder turbocharged mHawk engine (mCR100) which will deliver 100PS and 240Nm of Torque. The company is claiming a mileage of 17.3 kmpl, which seems decent compared to other SUVs.
Interiors are quite similar like its big brother Xylo, and will also feature Digital Drive Assist System from the Xylo that displays ike the current speed, instantaneous mileage pattern, gear information, and even internal and external temperature and humidity.
The top of the line SUV will get Alloy wheels, 2 din audio system etc.
On 20th September the pricing details will be announced which will give us a clear view as to how Mahindra plans to push the Qunto compact SUV.
