The October festive season will see a number of car launches in the Indian market. Car makers have lined a number of models but rejoice could be cheerless as companies plan to increase car prices on popular models.
With sales seeing an upward trend, car makers like Mahindra, Maruti, and Chevrolet are planning to hike prices soon. The hike could be in the range of 2-5% depending on the model.
Chevrolet will increase prices from 1st of October to offset the impact of rising input costs and currency fluctuation. Chevrolet will soon launch the facelifted Spark and Sail hatchback in the Indian market in October.
Honda Cars India will raise the prices of its three models — Brio, Jazz and City — by up to 2.6 per cent with effect from October 1. India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India had also said it would hike the prices of its vehicles during the period. Maruti will launch a very important model the all new Alto 800 on the 16th of October.
Mahindra will follow the suit as there has been 2 percent rise in the input costs, primarily steel, in the recent past.
