Mahindra & Mahindra launched its 1.2 tonne pick-up Genio based on the Xylo (Ingenio) platform in India.
The Genio is priced at Rs 4.99-lakh (BS 3 variant, ex showroom Navi Mumbai). The company has also introduced the BS4 variant of the small commercial vehicle in the market, which is priced around Rs 15,000 higher than the BS3 variant.
Mahindra is planning to launch a series of vehicles from the Genio platform this year.
The Genio’s vehicle architecture is based on the Ingenio platform which M&M has used earlier and gives superior cab design, chassis and proven aggregates of engine and transmission and delivers a car-like comfort and space, Goenka said. Mahindra also plans to export the vehicle in six-months from now.
The Genio is available in four attractive colour options–silver shine (metallic), diamond white, marvel granite and skyline blue and is available across 70 dealerships. From mid-February, the company plans to make the vehicle available across its dealerships pan-India.
