Hyundai India is going to showcase a number of new vehicles at the 2012 Auto Expo. Hyundai India will bring in the HND-7 MPV, the all new Elantra sedan and the Veloster at the 2012 Auto Expo.
The 2012 Hyundai Veloster was unveiled at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show and has an innovative door layout that features a single door on the driver side and two doors on the passenger side.
Offering three doors, a dual clutch transmission and Hyundai’s newest Blue Link telematics system, the Veloster ushers the Korean automaker into a whole new era.
Veloster comes powered by a 1.6-liter direct-injected gasoline four-cylinder that cranks out 138 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 123 lb-ft. of torque at 4,850 rpm. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or Hyundai’s first dual clutch automatic transmission.
Inside, the Veloster draws heavily from its Hyundai Elantra, it features a heavily styled dashboard with a center stack that Hyundai says found its inspiration from sport bikes. Unlike the Elantra, the Veloster offers three doors – two traditional coupe-like doors and one short door behind the passenger seat for access to the second row. Unlike the now-departed Saturn coupe, the Hyundai’s rear door is not suicide-style.
“We are showcasing some very exciting cars from our international range at the Auto Expo,” said Arvind Saxena, director for marketing and sales, Hyundai Motor India.
The existing range from Eon to the Santa Fe SUV will also be on display.
