The new Hyundai Santa Fe will be revealed at the upcoming New York International Auto Show has broken cover via a Twitter feed by Hyundai. The third generation Santa Fe will be the first vehicle in Hyundai’s portfolio which will have the ‘Storm Edge’ design – an evolution of the Fluidic Sculpture. Hyundai says that the design elements are adopted from nature during the event of a storm.
The new Santa Fe, atleast in the images, looks pretty much aerodynamic with its hexagonal grille and wider front as also rear bumpers. The 2013 Santa Fe will be a herald of the new design for future Hyundai SUVs.
The 2013 Santa Fe Fluidic could be powered by a diesel engine which will make 225 Bhp of peak power and a mammoth 500 Nm of peak torque. Thanks to the Twin Turbo which will help us achieve this power and torque form the same 2.2 Gamma common rail turbo diesel engine which is also powering the current Santa Fe.
The Santa Fe facelift could see a probable launch of end 2012 or early 2013. We are not very sure how of the new power and torque will make it to India.
The Santa Fe comes fully loaded with various active and passive safety features such as electronic stability program (EPS) and anti-lock braking system (ABS) — with electronic brake force distribution (EBD) to ensure greater driving stability.
