Garware Motors outlined plans to launch more bikes from the versatile Hyosung stable in India, which could include the roll out of the latter’s electric bike range.
The company, which has introduced three super bikes during the year in partnership with Korean company S&T Motors, manufacturer of Hyosung brand of bikes known globally for its superbike range, is at advanced stage of homologating its twin-engine-powered 250 cc bike to be launched in 2013, said Mr. S.P.Raykar, Director, Garware Motors.
Mr. Raykar said the company would be first to introduce a twin-cylinder engine 250 cc engine bike and will be likely to be priced at Rs.2.25 lakh. The homologation work is now underway.
The company has not made it clear which variant could make its debut first: either the Naked or full fairing. We expect the full fairing to be launched first which will give the CBR 250 and the Ninja some good competition.
The 250cc segment is going to get only hotter in 2012. We can also expect Suzuki India to surprise us with the launch of the 250cc motorcycle which the company recently launched in Japan and will be launched shortly in Europe.
Yamaha is also working on new models for India and 250cc offering is surely on the wish list.
India two wheeler makers: Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj and TVS may also enter the 250cc segment with killer pricing and will further expand the range.
