Honda has launched a teaser for the Amaze sedan for the Indian market. According to the Honda Car India website, the Amaze sedan will be launched in India in the entry level sedan segment in FY 2013-14 and will be available in both petrol & diesel engine options.
As per our sources, the petrol will be launched initially followed by the diesel variant by end of 2013. The Amaze sedan will be the first product to be offered with a diesel engine option. The game changer for the Indian market was recently launched in the Thai market in November and is launched with same 1.2 litre petrol engine.
There are no many details on the diesel engine specs but if some sources are to be believed, the new 1.5 litre diesel engine which is a scaled-down version of the 1.6-litre diesel that Honda sells in Europe.
The Amaze sedan is 3990mm and 5 mm shorter than the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. The car may seem small from outside, but Honda has kept in mind its principle of Man Maximum Machine Minimum.
The dash is identical to the Brio expect and the seats (with integrated headrests) too are carried from the hatch.
Honda India is also collecting details from the prospective customers and asking them what “You have to say about Honda’s 1st Diesel car in India?”
