Honda will launch the all new CR-V in the Indian market on the 12 of this month. All new Honda CR-V in its fourth generation comes with all new design on the outside and inside. The SUV will be assembled at the company’s Noida plant and we could expect aggressive pricing considering, Honda has shifted its focus from just being premium car maker in the Indian market to a volume player offering quality products.
The Honda CR-V will be available with a 2.4 and 2.0 litre petrol engine with ECO Assist system which helps increase fuel economy.. The diesel engine won’t make to the Indian market in 2013. Transmission options include a six speed manual and a five speed automatic. The steering gear control system is equipped with Paddle Shift. The I-VTEC 2.4-litre engine develops 170-horsepower while I -VTEC 2.0-litre makes 155-horsepower. The 2.4 variant will be offered with standard All-Wheel Drive system.
Honda lock horns against the Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva, Mitsubishi Outlander, Hyundai Santa Fe, Renault Koleos and the BMW X1 & Audi Q3 on the upper end.
The biggest question will Honda price the CR-V below the Rs. 20 lakhs figure?
