Honda India certainly has a game changer with the new amazing product, the all new Amaze sedan. With the launch of the new car which is expected to happen on the 11th of April, Honda will also diesel technology in the Indian market.
Based on Earth Dream new generation engine series, Earth Dreams Technology the 1.5 i-DTEC turbo diesel engine develops around 100 Ps of power @ 3600 rpm and a decent Torque of 200 Nm. The biggest question” Kitna Deti Hai”? Honda claims the Amaze diesel will deliver a mileage of 25.8 kmpl which has been certified by ARAI. The astonishing figure makes the car one of the most fuel efficient car in India.
Honda makes the best petrol engines in the world and with the new diesel engine the scene will a lot different now. The same motor will also be strapped on the new generation Jazz and the City which will be launched in 2014.
Honda is hoping to clock a 30% growth in sales with the launch of the Amaze sedan and will have a high local content upto 80% including the engine being manufactured in India. Honda is also scaling its dealership network and recently opened new dealerships in the East.
We expect the prices of the Amaze to start at Rs. 4.75 for the petrol and Rs. 5.85 for the diesel. Maruti Suzuki Dzire watch out.
