Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is opening a new dealership in the capital city of Goa- Panaji. Priority Auto which is the dealer for Skoda India has taken the second dealership for Honda in Panjim.
The new dealership is opened close the Skoda dealer in Taleigao while the service centre is located at another location. The new showroom will start operations in a few weeks from now.
Vistar Honda is the first dealer to have started operations in 2001 when the brand first made its entry in Goa with todays highest selling scooter Activa.
Honda recently launched the all new Dio. The company showcased seven new models at the 2012 Auto Expo. The new CBR 150 expected to be launched by March-April, Dream Yuga which will be launched by May 2012, new tri-colour CBR 250R by mid February the 2012 CBR1000RR Fireblade and VT1300CX cruiser.
Honda has recently commenced its second assembly line at Tapukara. The Tapukara plant initially started operations in July last year with annual production capacity of 0.6 million units. HMSI will be manufacturing the Activa (110cc), CB Twister (110cc) and CB Shine (125cc) from this plant, in addition to existing Manesar plant.
With the new plant the company has increased its production capacity to 2.8 million units annually. The new plant will help to bring down the waiting periods for the popular models.
The company has also announced to set up a third plant in Bangalore that is scheduled to be operational in the first half of 2013, with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million units.
