Goa has been one of the favourite tourist destinations. The small state located on the West coast of India also has many aficionados who love driving their machines in tough terrains to get close to Mother Nature and enjoy the rains with slush and mud.
One such event is the Monsoon Trail organized by the Incredible Offroaders Goa, a drive through challenging terrain with mud, slush, rain and loads of fun. Held on the 15th of August which is also the Independence Day marked a perfect day for off – road enthusiasts to go out and have fun.
This year’s edition of the Monsoon Trail in its third edition saw 34 Jeeps which came from different parts of India mainly from Maharashtra.
The jeeps which consisted of mainly Mahindra’s and few others like the Maruti Gypsy assembled at Sanguem bus stand for the flag off ceremony which was addressed by Mr. Subhash Faldesai (MLA Sanguem constituency, Chairman IT) & Mr. Nilesh Cabral (MLA Curchorem Costituency, Chairman GTDC).
The convoy then moved on to the offroad track, located in the interior of Sanguem which was naturally designed with all kinds of challenging obstacles for the enthusiasts.
While most jeeps did make it out easily, some did need help, Climbing the obstacles, but at the end of the day, the inland location of the track and tiny forest trails had an adventurous experience for the participants who had to squeeze their jeeps through the forest. The entire convoy met at the top where they all posed for a group pic and later moved on towards the rest of the trail.
The event concluded with lunch and distribution of mementos to the participants, and at the end of the day all the participants were down and dirty but the action packed day did bring in a lot of fun.
Speaking about the Monsoon trail Mr. Noël Pereira who had come for the first time for the event seemed quite enthusiastic about the event; he felt it was a very encouraging event and said that it offers an opportunity for people who are engulfed in their day to day work to dis connect and venture into nature and have fun. Noel also stressed that the event should be held every year so that such enthusiasts to go out and have fun.
Most people do seem quite enthusiastic about going off road, but due to the hectic and busy day to day schedules, most people do not get time to actually head out off-roading.
Monsoon trail is a unique Off road event which attracts off road fans who turned up with their machines all prepped up for the fun ahead.
