Global Vehicles USAsaid it will place a US$ 35 million-plus order for pick-ups from Mahindra & Mahindra, the Indian automaker it’s in a dispute with.
The order, to be made, will comprise an unspecified number of TR20 and TR40 pickups, Global Vehicles said in an e- mailed statement. The company and about 350 dealers in 49 states have invested almost US$ 100 million to sell the vehicles, it said.
Global Vehicles which sued Mahindra recently, after which the Mahindra had said that the partnership does not exist anymore has now taken a turn.
It looks like that Global Vehicles is keen to sell Mahindra pick-ups as they have invested a huge amount towards building a network and also the Americans are now considering diesel vehicles which are not only cheap but also clean to run.
Mahindra entry in USA has been delayed for a year, but may soon seem to be a reality.
