Garware Motors is looking to establish a joint venture in the country to manufacture bikes from Hyosung’s stable. The company had earlier signalled of CKD operations and now plan to manufacture them in India. This step may be to avoid higher taxes and also higher local content will help to price the bikes more competitive.
The company is looking to launch more products. Some of the models we speculate are a 250cc motorcycle, scooter and commuter motorcycle.
Garware also plans to imports cars to India. The company is looking at brands which are currently not available in the country. Some brands we feel could see the import route are Subaru, Lotus and Chineses auto makers.
