Force Motors will launch the Gurkha 4x4x4 SUv in Goa very soon. The Gurkha was launched in February at the International Bus and Utility Show 2013. One of our readers Saurabh Kinjawadekar spotted the Gurkha in Panjim which apparently was bought for Tourism Ministry approval.
The Gurkha Trax is powered by an improved 2.6 litre Mercedes OM 616 turbo charged intercooled engine which produces 82 Ps @ 3200 rpm, and torque of 230 Nm @ 1800-2000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5 speed synchromesh transmission with Hi – Lo option on transfer case. The engine is only BS3 compliant.
The Gurkha is available in three variants: 4×2, 4×4 soft Top and 4×4 Hard Top.
The Variants & Prices (Ex-Delhi Showroom) are:
4X2 – Rs 6.25 lakhs (Soft Top)
4×4 – Rs 8.35 lakhs (Soft Top)
4×4 -Rs 8.50 lakhs (Hard Top)
The Gurkha will compete with the likes of Mahindra Thar and Maruti Gypsy.
With Goa having a good fan base for jeeps the Gurkha 4×4 could definitely be a preferred choice by off road enthusiast.
