Force Motors will launch the 4×4 variant of the ONE SUV in India by mid 2012. The company showcased the 4×4 variant at the 2012 Auto Expo but did not divulge much detail about the same.
The 4×4 variant of the One SUV is powered by a 2.2 Litre common rail turbo diesel engine, an upgraded version of the OM 611, which is a Daimler product. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and suspension & Chassis has been tuned by the UK based Lotus. The SUV develops a power of 140Bhp@3800rpm and a Torque: 321Nm@ 1600 RPM.
Force Motors will also launch an ABS variant in India.
The Force will get some added competition with the launch of the New Safari Storme. The XUV500 has become a runaway success with SUV getting more booking than expected. Mahindra has got the product right in terms of features, looks and pricing.
