Premier made a re-entry in the passenger car market in 2009 with the Rio. However the car failed to meet expectations due to its dated looks and quality concerns. The Rio was strapped with a 1.5 diesel heart from Peugot which Premier has exclusive manufacturing rights. The company had to phase out the car with the implementations of BS4 emission norms.
Well Premier’s Facelifted Rio was caught testing in Pune near the company’s plant in Pimpri by Oncars.in. The new Facelifted Rio gets bigger wrapped around headlights which look similar to the Fiesta classic, new taillights, re-designed front and rear bumper , rear spoiler, front grille and a set of new alloy wheels.

The car may also get the Fiat’s 1.3 multijet engine which could be boon to this SUV. The company is also in talks with other car makers for new engine options.
So will Premier call the it the new Rio II and sell it along side the old Rio with the old BS3 engine?
