Residents/Citizens enjoy first of its kind treasure hunt ‘Discover An Adventure’ in Quepem
Citizens enjoyed an exciting Sunday with a unique treasure hunt – ‘Discover an Adventure’, which was organized by Kepecars – a group of young budding professionals. With a desire to spread the early festive cheer and promote togetherness within community, the interactive session was organized in Quepem on December 21st, 2014.
The treasure hunt saw participation from 40 teams, each consisting of 4 team-members, driving through the scenic beauty of Goa to discover 9 unique spots within the city. The event targeted enthusiast families and friends, who lead through solving puzzling clues and tackling fun crosswords along the way, in order to reach to their destination.
The teams assembled at Quepem Municipal Square, which wore a festive look and piqued interest of locals who thronged the area. The treasure hunt was kick started by Mr. Rennick Abreo, a Senior Rallyist from Margao and Mr. Ahmed Kader, a Motocross expert. The teams, upon registration were handed a clues pack which upon solving, revealed nine unique spots. The teams had to finish the treasure hunt by driving to each spot and at the same time by covering minimum distance. The Team to reach the finish line by covering minimum distance was declared as the winner of this exhilarating and fun treasure hunt. The participants had an awesome experience and got to discover Goa’s natural landscape. Moreover, moving through the narrow lanes of the village, they experienced the RORO ferries which are of least use in the recent days.
Commenting on the successful completion of treasure hunt, Mr. Santosh Silveira of Kepecars, said “This was truly a unique event and demonstrated excellent use of wit & team work of participants, in completing the tasks. We have received a phenomenal response this year and we aim to come back with a bigger & better event, to fulfil the growing expectation of the people.”
The organizers (Kepecars) showcased sheer dedication, sincerity & a lot of hard work in putting together the event of this stature. The winners took home dazzling trophies and cash prizes as well. The first prize was bagged by Team ‘ FIRE’ headed by Mr. Govind Lotlikar, who won a cash prize of Rs. 21, 000/- & a stay for 4 team members at Radisson Blu resort in Goa. Runners-up, Team ‘HUNTERS’ headed by Dr. Umesh Netravalkar won Rs.16,000/- & stay for 4 team members at Novotel Resort, Goa. And the third prize was grabbed by Team ’99 Hunters’ headed by Mr. Gaurang Kunkolienkar, who were handed a cash sum of Rs.11,000/- & stay for 4 team members at Karma Royal Resorts. Mr. Rohit Shenvi Barad from the team ‘SITARA BOYS’ also won a stay for 2 at the Mercure Grand, Goa as a lucky pick from the feedback forms.
Following the positive feedback, Kepecars aims to organize many such interactive events in the near future.
