Many images of Sail hatchback to be called the Sail U-VA have popped up, most of them though were of the exteriors and the interiors were not spied so far but our friends at Motor Vikatan have just managed to do that. Seen in the pictures are the interiors of the Sail U-VA and the Sail Sedan.
Both hatchback as well as the sedan have similar interiors, this is a move by Chevrolet to keep the cost down. The only exception being the gear lever, the hatchback has oval shaped gear lever whereas the sedan has a round one.
The dashboard is light brown in colour with beige inserts. Seats are dual tone and so is the door upholstery and they have the same theme of beige and light brown combinations seen on the dash. Instrument cluster has simple dials with large speedometer sitting right in the middle. The steering wheel is simple and steering mounted controls are missing.
A/C vents and centre console are black in colour. The Power window switches are on the centre console as opposed to the doors which is usually the case with most cars. There is lots of cost cutting in this car and that is one of the reasons behind the placement of the power window switches. The cabin quality is quite basic with average plastic quality. Considering all this, we expect the car to be priced aggressively when it is launched in the festive season.
As reported earlier, The Sail UVA will get a 1.2 petrol engine, which also shares its block with the Beat but will get a higher tune in the range of 80-85 Ps. In addition to the petrol there will be a 1.3 litre diesel engine. The Sail sedan will get the same 1.3 litre diesel engine and a 1.4 litre petrol engine. Both the cars will be aggressively priced and will offer good value for money. We expect the cars to be launched in July end or early August.
