Chevrolet’s next big launch the Sail small car will replace the current U-VA and Aveo and the Sonic twins may not see an India in near future which are the global replacements.
Chevrolet Sail passenger car will be unveiled sometime in July. Sail will be launched in both the petrol as well as diesel variants. While the petrol variant will have a 1.2 lt engine, the diesel variant will have a 1.3 lt engine.
GM’s Sial will compete directly with other big hatchbacks in the compact segment. The car looks quite alike in terms of shape to the outgoing UVA, it gets a big Chevrolet badge in the centre with a split front grille. We can expect some chrome treatment on the high end variants.
The Sail was developed by SAIC-GM in China and is also in sale in Brazil. The car will be powered by similar power trains which also does the duty on the Beat. GM could tune it for better performance.
The Sail hatchback’s exterior and interior design exudes Chevrolet’s sports styling. The front view features Chevrolet’s signature styling cues, including a dual-port grille adorned with a gold bowtie.
The hood features muscular cut-lines that provide a three-dimensional look. In line with Chevrolet’s global focus on safety, the Sail hatchback features safety cage body construction supported by the extensive use of high-strength steel.
