Chevrolet India reported a 1.3% increase in sales in May, at 8,329 as compared to the same month last year.
During May, 2011, the company sold 3,023 units of small car Spark, 2,144 units of hatchback Beat, 135 units of premium hatchback UVA, 218 units of entry level sedan Aveo, 240 units of mid-sized sedan Optra and 659 units of luxury sedan Cruze. The company also sold 1,767 units of multi-purpose vehicle Tavera and 143 units of sports utility vehicle Captiva.
The new Diesel Beat could help Chevrolet India to change its fortunes and see more a surge on the sales chart.
