Chevrolet’s Captiva was once again caught testing. The company is testing the new Captiva quite heavily before it rolls out in India. The launch is now expected in 2012 and the Auto Expo will be the right platform.
The 2012 Captiva gets a new face with restyled headlights and a new front bumper, along with Chevrolet’s updated grille design and new interiors.
The SUV will either get a new 2.2 litre common rail turbo-charged diesel engine with either 163 hp or 184 hp outputs or the same 2.0 litre common rail turbo-charged diesel with slight power upgrade could be used.
We feel the new engine could make it into the 2012 Captiva as Chevolet is testing the new SUV at different parts of India.
The new Captiva’s chassis has been tuned to further enhance vehicle dynamics, improving cornering, roll characteristics and ride feel. In Europe the Captiva gets Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS) and Braking Assist System (BAS) standard, as well as front-, side- and head curtain airbags, the Captiva also provides a high level of safety.
The new Captiva features Hill Start Assist, eliminating “roll-back” on hills, the audio system includes an auxiliary input, USB-port and Bluetooth connectivity.
