BMW launched the all new 6 Series Gran Coupe in the Indian market. This is the second launch for 2012 and fisrt amongst the remaining four scheduled towards end of this year. (Read here: BMW to launch 4 new models in second half of 2012 in India)
This is the first four-door coupe in the history of BMW and was unveiled through ‘Visions of Beauty’, an exclusive collection designed by Manish Malhotra, the leading Indian fashion designer.
The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is available in a diesel variant (The BMW 640d Gran Coupe) at an all India ex-showroom price of INR 86,40,000. Launched as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) unit,deliveries will start from November 2012 onwards.
According to the company the design was inspired by the idea of an object cutting straight through liquid medium and imagining the lines and forms that would be created in the process.
Sporty performance and great efficiency characterise the new BMW TwinPower Turbo diesel engine in the all-new BMW 640d Gran Coupe. The all-new BMW 640d Gran Coupe accelerates to 100 km/hr in 5.4 seconds with the ability to achieve a top speed of 250 km/hr.
The new eight-speed sport automatic transmission with Cruise Control performs smooth, almost imperceptible gear shifts. At any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates perfectly with the engine, enabling it to develop its full power and efficiency. The Sports Leather Steering of the all-new BMW 640d Gran Coupe also features Shift Paddles for facilitating more convenient manual gear shifts.
Using the Driving Experience Control switch, the driver is able to choose between different driving modes to suit the driving conditions (ECO PRO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+). In addition, Dynamic Damper Control adapts the shock absorber characteristics and adjusts to suit both the road condition and driving style.
The all-new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork and in the following metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Deep Sea Blue, Havanna, Mineral White, Orion Silver, Space Grey, Titanium Silver and Vermillion Red.
The standard Dakota leather upholstery is available in Black, Ivory White and Cinnamon Brown colour combinations. Interior trims offered are Fine-wood trim American Oak, Fine-wood trim Poplar Grain Grey and Fine Brushed Aluminium. The optional M Sport Package is available in special Carbon Black and Imola Red colors with Alcantara leather combination Nappa Anthracite/Black and Interior trim finishers Aluminium Hexagon.
BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is expressed through a choice of three optional packages available for customers with individual preferences. BMW Individual is defined by exquisite upholstery and perfect detailing which is revealed in the first glance itself. Every BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe can be made unmistakably unique through a large selection of distinct colors, rich leathers, fine-wood interior trims and high-grade materials.
The M Sport Package accentuates the unmistakably sporty genes of the all-new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe with distinctive design and functional elements like M Aerodynamics package, special bodywork colours, dark chrome tailpipes, black brake callipers and M door sill finishers.
The Luxury Package is designed especially for customers with a focus on comfort. The package includes special Comfort Seats with Active Seat Ventilation and Seat Heating.
