Just a day before we reported that the taxi version of the Dzire will be called Tour and now we have the first official images of the same. The Dzire Tour is the same old Dzire which a few months back clocked more 9000 units a month.
Maruti is making full use of the old platform and we feel this is a good marketing strategy which will help the car maker get additional sales. Maruti Suzuki silently slipped in the Dzire Tour version, which is available to only commercial buyers.
The Taxi target Dzire which is now called the Dzire Tour will be available only in two variants, LXi (petrol) and LDi (diesel) . Standard features include an AC, power steering and steel wheels with caps. Both front and rear bumpers, outside rear-view mirrors and door handles will be painted black.
This no frills car is priced at Rs 5.91 lakh for the diesel and Rs 4.88 lakh for the petrol variant. It will only be sold to taxi and fleet operators. This model will go on sale next month (April 2012) onwards.
The Dzire Tour will go head on with the Tata Indigo XL, Mahindra Verito, the latest new entrant Toyota Etios in the Taxi segment.
