A few days back we reported of the Figo facelift which is under development. The facelifted Figo was caught testing on the out skirts of Chennai, the home destination of Ford currently. Ford will give the Figo hatchback some much needed dose.
The Figo has been a success ever since it was first launched in 2009. The Figo was Ford’s solution to enter the hatchback segment which is currently the largest in the Indian market. As the development continues our friends at automotiveindia have managed to get some more insights on the interiors.
The American car maker is conducting clinical trials in an unknown dealership and more details about the Ford Figo facelift have surfaced. The Figo may get the start stop button which means one can start the car on a push of a button and keyless go. The feature may not be a new thing as it is already available on the Nissan Micra and Renault Pulse.
Unlike other car makers Ford has placed the start stop button right next to the gear knob and one needs to press the button to activate the music system, twice to activate the electricals and three times to switch on the car. The car can be started only when the brake has been engaged. This is done with the help of the brake lock.
The company is still in the testing stage and if the feedback does come positive ford may consider offering the same. One may have to pay upto 30,000 extra.
Ford Figo facelift exterior changes
The changes seem minimal which will be confined to new tail lamps, slightly refreshed headlamps and hopefully revised interiors. We hope Ford does get a solution and introduce rear power windows which is missing and is a common feature amongst competiton.
Ford is working on getting sales back to order and the Figo has been witnessing a slide in the recent months. Marketing has also seen a drop which could also be a major factor. With immense competition Ford will have to take some bold steps and price revisions to bring the Figo sales back on track.
