Bajaj has unveiled the all new Pulsar in January and the launch is expected to take place in May. The two wheeler maker from Pune will gear up for the next big launch: the all new Discover.
This new commuter sports bike will be launched by mid 2012 and will be based on a new platform altogether. A couple of days back the Discover was caught testing at Mumbai-Pune highway. The bike all covered but still a lot new features could be easily seen by naked eye.
The New Discover will take the bar of a commuter sports bike higher as Bajaj plans to pack the new motorcycle with a host of new features.
The Discover will get an all new chassis and will get a Gas Filled Monoshock at the rear. This will be a new addition to the Discover, a feature commonly found on the premium bikes. Honda was the first to introduce the monoshock on the Unicorn way back in 2003.
A Chrome heat shield and rear tip on the silencer again adds to the premium look. Certainly Bajaj will also incorporate the Exhaust-Tech technology which helps to improve the lower end Torque.
The Discover now gets a bigger and muscular Tank, a feature which made the Pulsar very popular and adds to the style quotient. The Instrument console is a combination of analogue tacho and digital odometer. Alloy wheel design seems to be borrowed from the new Pulsar and the Discover will get slightly thinner tyres.
The tail light assembly will not LEDs and side lights seem to borrowed from Pulsar 135. Other features include half chain cover, side lights borrowed from Pulsar 135 and trapezoidal shaped mirrors.
The Discover will certainly give the Yamaha SZ, Hero Achiever and Honda Unicorn even tougher fight.
Well the question remains will the new Discover looks and features be carried over to the 100 and 125cc variants?
