Audi India has launched the A8L 4.2 TDi at staggering price of Rs. 1.75 crores. The A8 will sit above the 3.0Tdi engine and be placed below the flagship 6.3 W12 petrol engine. The Audi A8L 4.2 gets the quattro® permanent all-wheel drive and is powered by a 4.2-litre V8 cylinder diesel engine with common rail injection system and exhaust gas turbocharging that produces 350 PS of power and a massive 800 Nm of torque which is available from 1750–2750 rpm.
The engine is mated to 8-speed Tiptronic Transmission. The claimed fuel economy of the A8L 4.2 TDI is 13.1 kmpl. The engine also does duty on the Audi Q7 SUV.
