Automobile Corporation of Goa Ltd (ACGL)-celebrated its Silver Jubilee on 16th January. On completing 25 years of existence, ACGL announced to launch new range of buses made out of galvanized and aluminum sheets.
ACGL which is owned by Tata Motors builds mini busses and coaches for domestic and export markets. The use of these material in the construction of the buses will make it highly corrosion resistant. The construction of ACGL’s new buses also makes it more easy to repair catering to customer satisfaction both local and international
The company manufactures buses mainly for Tata Motors only and now plans approach automobile companies like Ashok Leyland and Eicher for orders.
ACGL has four plants of which 3 are in Goa and 1 in Pune. The existing plants can manufacture all kinds of buses including staff and inter-city buses, luxury coaches, mobile libraries, training vans, etc.
Plant I- Main Plant Honda – Sattari – Goa. Originally set up as a Press shop in 1980 – for Sheet Metal stampings and assemblies for automobiles. Facilities for manufacture of bus bodies added in 2008 – including a state of the art Paint shop.
Plant II – Bhuimpal , Sattari – Goa. Setup in 1988.Manufactures Bus Bodies.
Plant III – Bhuimpal Pressing unit, Bhuimpal – Sattari-Goa. Setup in 1997. Manufactures Sheet Metal stampings and assemblies.
Plant IV – Jejuri Pressing unit, Jejuri (Pune Dist) – Maharashtra. Setup in 1998. Manufactures Sheet Metal stampings and assemblies.
