Skoda India is getting ready to launch the new Rapid Sedan in India. The car which is based on the underpinnings of the Vento will be powered with the same powerplants: 1.6 Petrol and a 1.6 Diesel.
The Rapid will have to compete with a larger portfolio of cars from different automakers and will have to carve a niche for itself if it is looking at numbers. Prices will play a very important role as the competition is only heating up specially with the new launches from Ford, Hyundai and Nissan.
The Rapid Sedan will get the new Vision D look showcased by skoda at the 2011 Genenva motor show.
We expect the car to be priced on the aggressive side with starting at 6.75 lakhs.
