Audi’s new compact crossover Q3 will break cover at Shanghai, where its predecessor, the Cross Coupe Quattro concept, was unveiled four years ago. Audi’s new Q3 will share its underpinnings and powertrains with the VW Tiguan and will be built at
Seat plant in Martorell, Spain.
The Q3 will be available with a variety of petrol and turbodiesel engines and a choice of transmissions.
The Audi Q3’s exterior styling borrows family cues from the larger Q5 and Q7 with a large grille in front, headlamps with day time LED running lights and will seat 5 comfortably.
The Q3 will fight with BMW X1 which is now a hot seller. Mercedes is also working on X1 rival and will be out by 2012-13.
