BMW is gearing up to launch their new X3 in India. BMW’s X3 SAV (Sport Activity Vehicle) is being tested on Indian roads and now will be launched as a CKD as opposed to CBU. This move could help to bring the costs down.
The second generation F25 X3 will compete with Audi Q5, Land Rover Freelander 2 and Volvo XC60.
Tata has also announced its plan to assemble the Freelander 2 in India, which will help to bring the costs down.
Dimensionally the X3 is longer, taller and wider than the model it replaces, what’s new are the significantly larger rear doors for easier access, improved gearboxes, and updated engine options.
The X3 will be available in petrol and diesel engines, expected to be priced between 40-45 lakhs.
