Renault has introduced the Kwid 1.0 variant in the Indian market recently and the car is also on sale in Goa. The Kwid 1.0 is powered by a 1.0 petrol engine and was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo.
The Kwid 1.0 will expand the product range further and is targeted at buyers who want a small hatch but is high on performance.
The Kwid 1.0 is powered by an all new 999cc three cylinder SCe engine producing 68 PS and 91 Nm mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0 engine offers best in class power-to-weight ratio of 97 PS/tonne and an average fuel efficiency of 23.01 km/L.
Renault will launch the Automatic Kwid AMT in a couple of months before Diwali festive season.
The 1.0 engine gets minimal changes over the 800cc which includes black and white chequered decal with a ‘1.0’ lettering on doors giving an illusion of side moulding and ORVMs in gloss grey.
The company continues to offer a wide range of accessories and claims the Kwid is one of the highest personalized car in India considering the number of accessories the sold at the time of deliver.
In terms of equipment the car comes with a 7-inch MEDIANAV touchscreen display with Bluetooth connectivity and GPS navigation, new fabric seat upholstery with red inserts, optional driver’s airbag and front seat-belt pretensioners and remote central locking.
The new engine option is available on the RxT and RxT (O) grades and prices start from Rs. 4.59 lakhs and Rs. 4.74 lakhs (On-road Goa), respectively.
Renault has priced the 1.0 version by only Rs. 22,000 above the 800cc variant.
The Kwid has been a very successful model and has received 1.65 lakhs booking across India and the company has managed to sell around 1 lakhs cars so far.
