Fiat Chrysler has announced its plans to launch Jeep brand in the Indian market which will make its debut end of the year. The Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler have been undergoing extensive testing in the Indian market.
Thanks to our reader Vishvesh Kare who spotted the Jeep Grand Cherokeet & Wrangler (Petrol & Diesel) being tested in the Indian market. The same convoy of vehicles were spotted in Goa which stopped for re-fueling.
India will receive the fourth generation Grand Cherokee codenamed WK2 is based on the current generation Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV which promises to offer superb off-roading ability with lavish and comfortable interiors. The SUV will be powered by a 3.0-litre common-rail diesel which develops 237bhp.
The more hardcore offroader Wrangler will be available in two-wheelbases. Even though Jeep is testing the Petrol variants in India, chances of it being launched in India are very slim.
In Goa the Jeep brand will initially be retailed through existing Fiat dealerships and will later have an independent dealership of its own.
We will bring you more details on the Jeep plans for Goa very soon.
