Audi will launch the more powerful version of the R8 supercar today. The R8 V10 plus combines subtle enhancements on the outside and major changes on the inside. Most notably, the model comes with a 550PS V10 plus engine and 7-speed S tronic gearbox.
Audi launched the facelifted R8 in February in the following variants 4.2 FSi V8 Coupe, 5.2 FSi V10 Coupe and 5.2 FSi V10 Spyder were introduced. The base 4.2-liter V8 develops 425HP (430PS) and 430 NM, and the 5.2-liter V10 makes at 518HP (525PS) and 540 NM. A 7-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission is now available which enables the R8 V10 to achieve a sub 4-second 0-100 kph sprint and a top-speed of 314 kph.
The Audi R8 V10 Plus engine power has been boosted from 525PS to 550PS and weight reductions have been achieved through standard bucket seats, CFRP elements (including the front spoiler lip and rear diffusor) and powerful ceramic brakes, delivering an improved power-to-weight ratio. The Supercar now does 0-100 in just seconds and capable of reaching a top speed of 317 km/h.
The R8 V10 plus is available only as a coupé. We will update you with more details and prices after the launch at BIC.
