The next big launch for the German car-maker, Audi is just around the corner and the company has today published a teaser video on its new online channel, ‘Audi MediaTV.’

While the video doesn’t mention the A3 Sedan by name, we all know that the car under the white sheet is the A3 hatchback based saloon we’re expecting from the German brand this time of the year. The four-ringed automaker says it’ll provide a “sneak-preview” of the sedan on YouTube on the 27th of March, which happens to be the opening press day of this year’s New York Auto Show.
The hatchback based sedan, as one may think, is none of that sub-4 metre kind gibberish that seems to have become the trend with manufacturers today. Instead, the A3 sedan will be a proper, full-sized car with a boot and will be positioned under the Audi A4, when it comes to India later next year.
The company has already previewed its new entry level sedan twice in the past at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011 and at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show, as a gasoline-electric e-tron hybrid study. What remains to be seen now is whether the company will reveal the car next week or as rumours suggest, on the 20th April at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show that follows.
Speaking of the company’s media services, the Audi India social-media department today raced to a new a benchmark by crossing the 2-million fan mark on its India operations Facebook page. To celebrate the feat, the company is giving out iPads, iPhones and a trip to Europe to its fans through a contest on Twitter and Facebook. Expressing delight on the occasion, Audi India Head Michael Perschke said, “Audi has clearly and successfully demonstrated that it is the coolest brand in India.”
