Bajaj Auto had announced of a all new 100cc bike in 2012 which will be the most expensive in its segment and also the most technologically advanced 100c bike to be launched in our country so far. There are very little details revealed about the bike and it could either be launched with a Discover or Platina nameplate. Codenamed D-104, the bike will be targeted directly against the Honda Twister and Hero’s Passion X-Pro.
The launch is expected to happen on the 7th of this month according to Overdrive India.
The bike will be built on an all new platform and we could expect it to be very similar to the new Discover ST in features and looks. The bike will most likely feature 100cc, 4 valve DTSi Twin Spark engine, Nitrox Monoshock and a Petal Disc Brake on the front. These features were introduced first on the Discover 125 ST which was launched in 2012.
Digital instrument cluster, LED tail lights and DC power supply could also be included. Bajaj is trying to target customers who want a commuter bike with high efficiency and also high on features.
To keep it second position intact and increase its gap with Honda which is getting very close to Bajaj, the company may introduce the bike at a very aggressive price.
