The Cayenne S Hybrid is developed alongside the Toaureg hybrid, chances of which are quite slim to be introduced in the Indian market.
The Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid is powered by 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine which develops 245 kW (333 hp) max power while the electric motor develops 34 kW (47 hp) giving a Total system power of 279 kW (380 hp). The engine alone develops max torque of 440 Nm while the electric machine produces 300Nm of torque. The SUV has a total system torque of 580 Nm.
The engine is mated to a 8-speed Tiptronic S Automatic transmission with Auto start/stop function and gearshift controls on steering wheel. The SUV is also equipped with Porsche Traction Management (PTM): permanent all-wheel drive with self-locking center differential, aut. limited-slip differential (ABD) and traction-slip control (ASR), variable rear torque split.
The SUV is targeted to the rich and affluent who have slight concern about the environment yet want to accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in 6.5 secs. The Cayennne hybrid has a top speed of 242km/h.
