Hero will drop the Honda brand name from all it products by end of September and will get the new logo and company name: Hero MotoCorp.
Hero parted away from Honda is December 2010 and launched its all new identity in August 2011. Under the new brand identity the company launched three new products: Impulse transroader, Maestro scooter and the Ignitor motorcycle. The company will soon launch it fourth product the Passion X-Pro in September.
After dropping the Honda badge, CD-Dawn and CD-Deluxe will be re-branded as HF-Dawn and HF-Deluxe. Hero will have access to Honda technology till 2014 after which the company will have to launch products with its indigenously developed technology.
“The acceptance of our new identity and the market response that we have received on our three new Hero branded models–Impulse, Maestro and Ignitor–make us confident to go ahead. Our entire range of products would have moved to the Hero brand within this month,” Hero MotoCorp Senior Vice-President (Marketing & Sales) Anil Dua said.
Hero will hike scooter and 125cc motorcycle production. The scooter production will be hiked to 60,000 from the earlier 30,000 units a month. The 125cc segment has also witnessed growth after the launch off the 125cc Ignitor and the production will be hiked to 75,000 units per month.
