Audi is on track to achieve its target of 8,000 unit sales in 2012 in India and, in fact, expects to beat it. For the six months ended June 2012, the company sold 4,680 units, a 49 per cent growth over the year-ago period while in July; it sold 680 units, a 98 per cent jump over July 2011.
In June the company managed to sell more cars than BMW and with the launch of Audi Q3 expects only more numbers.
The Q3 managed to get 500 bookings within a span of just 5 days and the company has already delivered 300 units in the last couple of months. It is hoping to sell another 200 in the next two months.
Audi posts strong sales in June, overtakes BMW
After clinching the No. 2 spot in March 2012 overtaking Mercedes-Benz, Audi India is now implementing it’s strategy to achieve their goal of becoming the No.1 luxury brand in India latest by 2015.
Audi India plans to expand its network to 25 dealerships by the end of 2012 from its existing 19 centres. The model range in India includes A4, A6, A7 Sportback, A8L, Q5, Q7, RS5 Coupé, the super sports car R8 and the R8 Spyder.
