BMW is all set to launch the new 3 Series in the Indian market on the 2nd of August. The new BMW 3 Series code named F30 is based on an all new platform and will be bigger both inside and outside then the current 3 Series.
The Sixth generation BMW 3 Series exteriors is influenced by the F01 7 Series and especially the F10 5 Series. The larger kidney shaped grille, a bigger nose , LED accent lights positioned like eyebrows above the striking twin headlights with corona rings give the car an impressive design at the front. Powerfully taut surfaces with sweeping lines dominate the side view of the BMW 3 Series Sedan.

The new BMW 3 series is available in three trims internationally: Sport Line, Luxury Line and Modern Line. Currently launched in 8 engine options: 328i, 320i, 328i, 335i, 316d, 320d, 320d and 330d. In India we could initially get the 320d and 328i petrol engine.
The 328i employs a Twin Power Turbo” technology which makes use of a single turbocharger and produces Max power of 180(245) kW (hp)/ 5,000 rpm and Max Torque of 350@1,250 rpm.
The 328i will be available in the Sports trim while the 320d in the Luxury trim.
There is also romours of BMW launching the new 3 Seires with all wheel drive which translates the 328i xDrive could most likely be launched in India. This variant will be pitched directly against the Audi A4
BMW will not offer the stripped down Corporate edition new 3 Series on the new model and prices could be very aggressive. With Audi A4 starting at Rs. 27 lakhs we will have to closely see the pricing strategy of the Bavarian Auto maker.
