TVS Training Academy and Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) here, signed a memorandum of understanding last week, to offer a Certificate Course in Automotive Engineering for the second and third year mechanical engineering students of the college, on optional basis.
Mr R. Dinesh, Joint Managing Director, TVS. and Sons Ltd, Madurai, and Mr Karumuttu T.Kannan, Correspondent, TCE, signed the agreement. The MoU will provide hands on experience in the industry to students and prepare them to be directly employable in the industry.
It would facilitate integration of learning and skill development, synergizing the industrial expertise and infrastructure available at TVS Training Academy, with that of the resources available at TCE. Mr Dinesh said the private-private initiative to provide a programme with a holistic approach to automobile learning, will be assessed every six months to make it more beneficial. Mr.Kannan said the college has so far signed 14 MoUs, all in the software sector and the MoU with the TVS Academy was the first one to be signed in the mechanical engineering department of the college.
