DSK Motowheels which is the new partner for Hyosung bikes in India has launched the new GT250R in India. It is priced at Rs 2.75 lakh, ex-Delhi.
The GT 250R is powered by an air/oil-cooled 249cc, 75-degree, V-twin engine. The power plant produces a peak power of 27.88PS and maximum torque of 22.07Nm and is mated to a 5 speed manual gear box. The bike can do a top speed of 140 km/h. (It seems low as compared to competitors).
The GT 250 will take on the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 250, Honda CRR 250 and the KTM Duke 200 (KTM 200: not directly though). The price certainly could be a big worry which could dampen the success of the bike. Never the less the bikers are getting another reason to rejoice.
The GT250R is available in three colours – white-red, silver-red and red-black and will be in showrooms in next five days. Deliveries will begin in two weeks. Hyosung now has 18 dealers in the country.
DSK is working hard on localisation program and the GT 250R will be on the top priority. The company is aiming at 90% localisation which could help to bring the cost down substantially.
Hyosung will be bringing the GV650 cruiser before Diwali and the GV250 towards the end of the year.
