British luxury car maker Rolls-Royce Group launched its latest car “Ghost” in Delhi at a price upwards of Rs. 2.5 crore. Bookings for the Ghost have already begun though deliveries will start only in the first quarter of 2010. The Britain-based carmaker had a bumper year in 2008 when it sold a record 2,012 cars worldwide and 200 across Asia.
“Rolls Royce plans to sell around 75 cars in 2010, of which Ghost will comprise 50-60 units”, the regional director for Asia Pacific, Mr. Colin Kelly told the media persons. Rolls Royce interest in India comes after the company cut down production by 35% in 2009 due to the global meltdown.
