Mahindra Scorpio a brand which is synonymous to all Indians as one of the best SUVs on the Indian roads. Its been 10 years in production and one of the best selling SUV in India. The Scorpio achieved yet another mark by selling 50,000 units in a single year.
The time has come where the Mahindra now plans to launch an all new Scorpio. Mahindra has begun work on its next new project the Scorpio replacement Codenamed W105.
The new Scorpio won’t follow the XUV500 platform which is a monocoque and will be based on a heavily modified version of the current Scorpio’s platform. The company claims that a body-on-frame SUVs work well both in the urban and rural markets. Mahindra will also develop a pick-up version of the same along with new SUV which is mainly meant for the export markets.
The Scorpio will be longer and will have a lengthened wheelbase which means more leg room. This is a big limitation in the current Scorpio especially in the second row. The Scorpio will certainly take a lot of design cues from the XUV500 which has tasted instant success.
In terms of style the SUV could boast the new grille with the Mahindra logo in centre, LED running lights and all the latest gadgets and gizmos.
The new Scorpio will also get the new mHawk engine which produces 140bhp and 340 Nm of Torque.
