Mercedes-Benz launches new E-Class in India. The all new E-Class has been introduced with the top-of-line Avantgarde styling and 3.5 Litre V6 Petrol engine. The car will be assembled locally at Mercedes’s pune plant.
The new version of its sedan E-Class in India priced at Rs 46.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Features of the New E-Class
The new E-Class Saloon comes with a powerful 3.5 litre V6 engine, and features an energy efficient four valve technology. The engine combines smooth operation and eco-efficiency with the highest level of agility and handling dynamism, generating an impressive torque of 355 Nm at 4500 rpm, with an output of 200 kw (272 hp).
Suspension and Steering: Another contribution to relaxed driving comes from the newly-developed, standard-fit DIRECT CONTROL suspension with selective damping system. The shock absorbers automatically adapt to the driving situation. The improved damping effect and stabilisation of the vehicle are particularly valuable on poor road surfaces.
The Direct-Steer system offers a more direct steering ratio, reducing the need for great steering movements at large steering angles, for instance when parking or in tight curves. Direct-Steer is standard in the models with V6 engines
Assistance systems: Comfort takes centre stage in the E-Class, with an array of safety systems to keep you relaxed even on long journeys, when driving in rough conditions, or executing difficult manoeuvres. The assistance systems are developed based on what actually occurs during a drive. These technologies enable the E-Class to see, feel and react automatically in a variety of situations ranging from difficult to critical.
PARKTRONIC parking aid with Parking Guidance: The System operates with Ultrasonic sensors, with the 1st & 6th sensors in front helping to guide the vehicle. The system is activated by turning on the indicators; it is also automatically activated by speeds up to 35 km/h.
The multi-zone THERMOTRONIC system permits the occupants of the new E-Class to select “Diffuse”, “Medium” or “Focus” modes at the touch of a button, and so adapt the air volume and distribution to their personal preferences without sacrificing the convenience of automatic mode.
A true measure of power is its control, and the E-class exhibits exactly the kind of control that impresses, with a slew of innovative systems that support safe driving in many different ways; from the control and display system especially tailored to each individual driver to systems designed to alert and assist the driver in critical situations.
ADAPTIVE BRAKE system with HOLD function: The E-Class incorporates the proven Mercedes brake system that offers assistance functions, such as Hold function and Hill Start Assist, making starting and stopping in difficult conditions safe and easy.
ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection system: Thanks to an innovative technology, the new E-Class is very sensitive to its driver’s attention level, and warns him or her of drowsiness. This new intuitive ‘ATTENTION ASSIST’ drowsiness detection system is equipped with highly sensitive sensors that continuously monitor more than 70 different parameters. This includes minor steering errors which are often corrected very rapidly in characteristic ways. These corrections are recognised by a highly sensitive steering angle sensor that alarms the driver helping avoid any untoward episode.
