Renault India will hike the prices of its sports utility vehicle Koleos by Rs. 1 lakh from January 1. The company has sighted the depreciating rupee as the main reason for the price hike. The Koleos will now be available at Rs 23.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Earlier, it was offered at a price of Rs 22.99 lakh.
Renault launched the Koleos in September as a CBU. The SUV is powered by M9R 865 1,995cc Engine with 150 horse power and 320Nm of Torque. The engine is mated to 6 speed automatic gearbox. The Renault Koleos can be used in 4WD lock, 2WD lock or auto 4WD.
The new Renault Koleos comes with three free services up to 20,000 km, which is extendable to 4 years/80,000 km. For Renault, this is their second launch of the year in the Indian car market after the launch of the Fluence in May 2011. Renault operates through 14 dealerships now and looks at adding another 26 by year end.
