Ford is secret developing the new Endeavour which is based on the new international Ranger platform. The new Endeavour will help Ford to take on the facelifted Fortuner which will make its debut at the 2012 Auto Expo.
The new Endeavour looks much butcher then the current one on sale and all will get all new interiors. New wraparound headlights and a bold chrome grille give the SUV a much needed aggressive look. The interiors get black treatment which complement the exterior.
The Endeavour will share power trains and transmissions with the new Ranger. The All New Ranger’s Duratorq TDCi 2.2L VG Turbo engine delivers 150PS and powerful 375Nm of torque. With newly engineered powertrains and new six-speed transmissions, the All-New Ranger delivers class-leading fuel efficiency and a quieter, superior driving experience.
The Ranger also a more powerful new Duratorq TDCi 3.2L VG Turbo, which has a substantial 470 Nm of torque and power rated at 147 kW (200 PS).
Some of the new featured the Ranger which eventually the new Endeavour gets are:
- Electronic Stability Program (ESP), which uses advanced sensors to continuously monitor the path the vehicle is travelling on and compares it to the path the driver wants to follow, as indicated by the steering wheel.
- Hill Descent Control: Helps the driver on steep downhill grades
- Hill Launch Assist: Helps the driver pull away on steep climbs
- Adaptive Load Control: Optimal vehicle stability with a loaded vehicle
- Emergency Brake Assist: Provides additional brake pressure in emergency stopping manoeuvres
- Emergency Brake Light: Signals to other drivers by flashing the indicators when the vehicle decelerates quickly
- Roll-Over Mitigation: Helps prevent the vehicle getting into a roll-over situation
