Skoda has launched the much awaited Rapid saloon in India at a starting price of Rs 6.75 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The new Skoda Rapid is available in both petrol and diesel engine options, with manual and automatic versions.
The car shares a lot of the underpinnings form the Vento including the engines. The Rapid is powered by the same 1.6 petrol and diesel motors both of which develop 105bhp, but tuned at different rpms.
The headlights, grille and bumpers are lifted from the Fabia hatchback, but to uphold the proportions of a sedan, Skoda has integrated a new bonnet, bumpers and fenders. Light alterations have also been made to the chin, to make a distinction between the hatch and the sedan.
The will be available in three trims – Active, Ambition and Elegance.
