GM India will participate in one of the prestigious rallies, popularly called as the world’s highest motorsport battle arena, ‘Raid de Himalayas’. Chevrolet Beat, one of the highest selling models of GM India was flagged off from Gurgaon, the corporate office of GM India to take part in the rally.
Though there are various formats or categories of participation and GM India’s entry is in the saloon segment , with stock vehicle under adventure category.
The 13th ‘Raid de Himalayas’ rally will flags off from Shimla on October 11 where the vehicles will be scrutinized as per regulations , and will go through various terrains of Himachal, Ladakh, and J & K covering around 3000 kms over a period of 6 days.
The Rally is based on TSD format – time speed and distance, which needs to be managed to the closest during the various stages of the rally. There are total of 74 entries in the adventure trial where in we are participating . Given the terrain, first challenge is to keep the vehicle intact even under off roading and steep climbs through tight corners. Also, there is lot of physical stress which needs to be managed due to drive that lasts close to 12 hrs a day , coupled with high altitude, low oxygen conditions.
The rally will get concluded at Srinagar on 17th of October.
