Hyundai is going have some special fire crackers for Diwali in the form of the small car Eon.
Hyundai Eon website has gone live and the company has started accepting bookings for its small car. The bookings will open from October 1, 2011. The Eon is likely to be launched on the 14th of October.
The car will be manufactured in India at Hyundai Motor India’s manufacturing facility located at Sriperumbudur near Chennai.
The Eon is targeted at first time buyers who want to buy a spacious and stylish car that is high on fuel economy. The Eon will measure under 3.5 metres with Hyundai’s tall boy design to give that extra head room.
The Eon will feature an 800cc engine that generates 56 PS of peak power and 7.65 KgM of peak torque. The gearbox from the Santro has been carried forward into the Eon. The Eon may also be fuelled by LPG and CNG options in future and this makes a lot of sense considering the petrol prices are close to Rs. 70 a litre.
